International workshop:

BLOOMS AND INVASIONS OF MARINE SPECIES

21.-23. June 2011, Sète (France)

The international workshop “Blooms and invasions of marine species” will be held from 21st to 23rd June 2011 in Sète (France). This workshop forms part of a scientific project  on blooms and invasions of marine species in coastal ecosystems financed by the French Ministry of Ecology (MEEDDTL) and aims to:

• create a network of scientists working on this topic,
• respond to national and international funding calls,
• initiate new funding sources on the subject,
• write review articles.

The workshop takes place over 2 ½ days and will be devoted to presentations on invasions and blooms of marine species in the coastal environment (phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos) followed by work in groups on emerging ideas.

Date : Tuesday 21.6. - Thursday 23.6.2011; check-in Monday evening (= 3 nights)
